On Saturday 15th February 2025, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the offices of Walsall Society For the Blind (WSB).
We are pleased to report that following the formal resignation of all directors, all have once more been successfully re-instated to their previous roles due to their willingness to continue their duties and the willingness of the members present to second them.
You can see details of our directors and supporting committee on our Charity Details page.
our chair, Steve Mellor, thanked all directors and members for their continuing support and highlighted a few objectives for the forthcoming year. These are:
- Continue to support, engage and connect with our members
- Attempt to continue growing our membership and influence in the Walsall area
- Work with partner organisations, such as our friends at Walsall Society for The Blind in an attempt to re-establish the Disability Forum, providing an umbrella organisation of support and allegiance for disability charities across the borough
- Work more closely with Walsall Council to ensure that the views and needs of people with a visual impairment in our area are heard and considered at a time of major change for the town
- Continue to seek out and obtain sources of funding to enable us to continue doing our good work and providing social occasions for our members
We hope that all members, and anyone reading this, is having and continues to have a prosperous 2025
With Thanks,
Craig Bates - Technical Officer
